Trigger Heart Excelica is a vertically scrolling bullet hell shooter game that first appeared in Japanese arcades in 2006. This was his penultimate Dreamcast game to be officially licensed for SEGA to be released, and was later ported to other consoles such as PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360. Story: Far away… in a star system so far away that the light from the stars cannot reach Earth… the war is nearing its end. Exelica and Crueltia, a humanoid weapon system called Triggerheart developed by the interplanetary defense organization Tilda, are sent to battle an autonomous combat force known as Vermis.
During the battle, just as Vermis gains the upper hand, Exelica and Crueltia are accidentally sent to Earth by Vermis’ emergency teleportation gate. Triggerheart, finding himself on a strange planet and without the strength to return home, is depressed, with no way of knowing the outcome of the battle.
They were recovering from their wounds and were finally starting to think of Earth as a haven… then it happened. A nightmarish sight filled the sky. The remains of the Vermis army have arrived.
