VANCOUVER, British Columbia, July 30, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — This summer, Fitness World Canada We are bringing the world famous Spartan DEKA Strong Race to Surrey, British Columbia on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Local participants will South Surrey Signature Fitness World They will then compare their results with all DEKA athletes from around the world.The event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., will see participants compete individually or as part of two-person teams in a series of functional fitness challenges focused on testing both strength and aerobic fitness within 10 training zones that focus on fundamental movements such as lifting, pushing, pulling and jumping.

The DEKA Strong event, held in partnership with Fitness World, celebrates fitness from beginners to advanced athletes – an inclusive philosophy that aligns with Fitness World’s mission to provide high-quality, affordable fitness in the city. The event marks DEKA’s first partnership with a South Surrey fitness club to bring a globally recognized fitness event to the local fitness community.
DEKA is a challenge inspired by the history of gamification and fitness testing in Ancient Greece. Spartan RaceThis challenge is a unique opportunity for the local fitness community to come together in one day to tackle 10 areas of functionality. The 10 zones are designed to start with foundational movements that target the entire body in the first 5 zones. The final 5 zones turn up the heat and focus on the entire body individually.

Event registration now open It is open to the public, with participation fees ranging from $45 CAD to $59 CAD. To help participants prepare, Fitness World is offering the DEKA WORX training program, hosting weekly classes at each club until August 15, 2024, allowing members to hone their skills alongside new and experienced participants prior to the event.
Fitness World is stepping up its efforts to promote fitness and health in the local community. Shineis an organization dedicated to suicide prevention by creating access to activity, fitness and nutrition. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales for the event will be donated to support SPARKLE’s mission.
