Houston –(Realty News Report)–Fitness studio HOTWORX has leased space at East River at Midway, an innovative mixed-use development near the eastern edge of downtown Houston.
HOTWORX has leased 1,700 spaces on the first floor of the parking garage, and its innovative 24-hour infrared fitness studio is scheduled to open in fall 2024.
This unique fitness concept offers 24-hour access to virtually guided workouts within an infrared sauna environment. The method integrates heat, infrared energy and motion to provide an efficient workout experience. The studio features a 7 x 9 foot semi-private infrared sauna that optimizes the absorption of infrared radiant energy beneficial to the body’s regenerative processes. Workouts include a variety of programs including hot yoga, pilates, barre, cycle and HIIT, led by specialized virtual instructors.
“Their commitment to health and wellness aligns perfectly with our vision,” said Laura Harness, senior director of retail leasing for Parkway, which represents the East River landlord. “We believe HOTWORX will be an important addition that will enhance the lifestyle and wellness options offered to residents and visitors.”
The East River HOTWORX studio will also feature a space equipped with weights, bands, ropes and other tools for functional training exercises.
The facility will be staffed during normal business hours, open 24 hours a day, and equipped with access control and app-based personal safety devices for medical emergencies.
Construction is complete on the 26-acre first phase at East River. The Rolla multifamily community welcomed its first residents earlier this year, with several tenants moving into their new spaces, including Le Tesserae by The Astorian, Impact Networking, Method Architecture, TEAL, Suderman & Young Towing Company, and OJB Landscape Architecture. A number of retail, dining, and entertainment venues are scheduled to open this fall, further enhancing the live, work, and play environment. Confirmed tenants include CoolXDad, City Cellars HTX, Kyuramen, La Calle Tacos & Cantina, Lick Honest Ice Creams, Tomi Jewelry, URBN Dental, EADO Eye Studio, Houston Maritime Center + Museum, and Champions Mortgage. Additionally, Orion Holdings Group, Inc., Anton Paar USA, and Port Houston have all selected East River for their headquarters locations. The new headquarters in Port Houston is being developed by Midway in the first phase, and Anton Paar USA has purchased a prime site to build its new southern regional headquarters.
The East River has a mile of waterfront along Buffalo Bayou near Jensen Drive.
