Hannah Einbinder, best known for her Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for playing writer and comedian Ava Daniels on the TV series “Hacks,” is ready to share more about herself in Max’s new comedy special, “Everything Must Go,” premiering on the streamer on June 13.
“It feels like the most intimate extension of myself, my being and my soul that I’m sharing,” Einbinder told the Los Angeles Times in a recent interview.

The special has been Einbinder’s life in preparation and is filled with personal anecdotes on topics ranging from her religious views to her experiences as a competitive cheerleader.
“Cheerleading was a big part of my life and my first real passion for performing,” Einbinder said, reflecting on her time as a “flyer” on the Beverly Hills High School cheerleading squad. “I was very dedicated to perfection, and I think my work ethic, at least for me, obviously, can be attributed in large part to my time as a cheerleader.”
As a child, Einbinder also struggled with ADHD and often had uncontrolled bursts of energy, but found a way to channel it through his comedic inspiration. He explains his thinking at the time: “There’s a lot of research on the differences between boys and girls with ADHD, but I definitely fall into the boys’ ADHD category. I was really rambunctious, and I think Jim Carrey’s physical style appealed to me, so I started to emulate him.”
Despite being interested in comedy from an early age, it wasn’t until she had the opportunity to open for Nicole Byer in college that Einbinder realized how important it would become to her life.
“It became very clear to me at that moment,” Einbinder told the Los Angeles Times. “I didn’t really think, ‘This is my career.’ I guess I just naively thought, ‘I’m passionate about this and I’m going to pursue this and I can’t stop.'”
Thankfully, that obsession eventually paid off, but Einbinder doesn’t take her success for granted. Aware of how lucky she is to be able to do what she loves, she said, “I’ve been blessed with the incredible gift of being able to make art and earn a living from it. I want to maintain this level of quality… You can see me in a Shell Oil commercial. No, just kidding.”
