Kickstreamer and YouTuber Vitaly is facing a lawsuit over his “Catch a Predator” series after a man claims he was trapped and abused by its creators.
In May 2024, Vitaly Zdorovetsky teamed up with rappers Ty Dolla $ign and Adyn Ross to catch sex offenders in a series similar to Chris Hansen’s famous “To Catch a Predator” series.
While the stream has been a huge success in terms of viewership, it has landed him in legal hot water because of its content.
A new lawsuit filed in California by a man named Daniel Prieto Jr. claims Vitaly falsely accused him of being a predator.
The 17-count lawsuit, shared with X by attorney Jason Morin, alleges that Vitaly and his associates physically and mentally abused Prieto in a “vicious attack.”
Vitaly and his team are accused of shouting “certified mistresses” and “certified pedophiles” at men who they claimed were trying to meet up with 15-year-old boys.
But the plaintiffs allege that they were “engaged in consensual adult communications” on the website before being “trapped” by Kick Streamer.
Prieto Jr. further alleges that Vitaly edited the TikTok of the incident to “maximize public outrage” and discredit him.
So far, Vitaly has not responded to the lawsuit, but for now, his “Catching Predators” series is on hiatus after its first season.
On May 23, Vitaly revealed just how successful his show has been, saying that the first season garnered over 1 billion views.
“Season 1 of Predators Takedown has concluded successfully. In 11 days, 33 pedophiles have been caught, exposed, some have been arrested and the rest will be prosecuted,” he said, thanking Kick for giving them the platform. “This is just the beginning for us, the real question is… who is ready for season 2?”
While Zdorovetskiy is excited to take his content to the next level, it’s unclear how the lawsuit will affect future seasons.
