Before discovering yoga, she was a national gold medalist in swimming and a commercial pilot. It was her mother who encouraged her to do yoga along with her physical therapy after a bicycle accident left her bedridden for eight months. She founded her own studio ‘Anshuka Yoga’ in 2015. For Palwani, yoga is pure magic.
Success stories for her are when she is able to help clients become more in tune with their bodies. Sharing her memories, she said: “I do a lot of kids’ yoga, and one day a parent came to my class and said, ‘After all the kids have eaten lunch, they want us to sit in Vajrasana.’ Because that’s what I talked about when I was five years old.” I feel like this ripple effect is a success story for me. ”
Over the years, she has helped celebrities like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor, Ananya Pandey and Huma Qureshi do yoga. She has also partnered with her Apple, Spotify, Audi, 82°E, and Nykaa Fashion. In December 2023, Bhatt took to Instagram to share her postpartum journey and attempt at reversal. She acknowledged Parwani’s achievements and called her “my teacher”. It was a “big day,” Yogi recalls.
At Anshuka Yoga, we understand that no two people’s bodies or mental states are the same, so we offer customized programs. “We make sure to take care of the health of all body types.” Lastly, what advice would you give to newcomers? “Start right away and listen to your body. Consistency is key, but set realistic goals. In the end, just show up. Show up for yourself. please.”
