CPA Student Wellness hosted Therapy Animals for Wellness on Wednesday, March 20th.
Last week, for Wellness Wednesday, Student Wellness (housed within the CPA) hosted therapy animals for students to spend time with from 2-4 p.m. Wellness Wednesday is a bimonthly event hosted by Student Wellness throughout the semester, and each event includes topics and activities to improve student health.
“Therapy animals can be an important source of stress relief for students, and each time we have a therapy animal available for student interaction on campus, we receive a lot of positive feedback,” said Haley Darby, assistant director of student wellness. We are getting feedback,” he said. For this reason, we plan to include therapy animals in our Wellness Wednesday events and other various programs each semester. ”

Student Wellness offers a variety of programs focused on promoting a balanced lifestyle. These programs include events such as Wellness2Go Workshops, Wellness Wednesdays, and Be Kind to Your Body Week. These programs are based on nine dimensions of wellness: emotional, spiritual, cultural, intellectual, economic, environmental, occupational, physical, and social.
“As we approach the end of the semester, we have many wellness activities planned for students to participate in between now and May,” Darby said.
In addition to upcoming Wellness Wednesdays, Keep It Safe and Sexy on April 3rd, and Self Care 101 on April 17th, many events commemorating Sexual Assault Awareness Month will take place throughout April. It is scheduled to be done. Events such as car smash and dive-in movies are also planned during stress relief week.
“While the secret to happiness is different for each individual, there are many departments on campus, including the Student Wellness Department, to help you navigate resources to find the right combination for each individual’s needs. ” Darby explained.
