If you grew up with the Nintendo 64, you’re probably familiar with the Turok series. Now’s your chance to relive that magic with the physical release of the remastered version of Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion. Limited Run Games has announced the official physical release of the game, and is accepting pre-orders starting June 7th. Pre-orders will be accepted until July 7th, when the game launches.
Limited Run, as the name suggests, does not release many copies of each release, so Turok fans who want a physical copy will definitely want to jump on this release. The game will be available on three platforms: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. It will also be available in two different editions; the Standard Edition will retail for $30, while the Classic Edition will retail for $60.
The Classic Edition comes with some extra goodies, so think of it as a special Deluxe Edition. Again, keep in mind that these are limited editions, although there’s no mention of how many copies will be made.
The physical release of Turok 3 will be joined by Turok 1 and 2 for Xbox.
If the physical release of Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion wasn’t enough for you, you can also own the physical releases of the remasters of Turok 1 and Turok 2. These were only released on Xbox One, but for good reason: the PS4 and Nintendo Switch releases of both remasters came out a few years ago. Both games came to the Nintendo Switch in 2019, then to the PS4 in 2021. Xbox One was the only console platform at the time that hadn’t received a copy. Until now, that is.
That means if you’re on Xbox, you can easily get the entire trilogy in one go. It’s worth noting here that none of these releases will be available right away. Pre-orders start today, but physical copies are still in the works, and orders won’t actually ship until October.
Add some extra goodies to your Turok collection
In addition to the games, Limited Run will be enhancing your collection with some Turok-themed goodies. The first is a hard slipcover that fits all three game cases. If you plan on owning all three, this slipcover is perfect for keeping them all together and organized. These are compatible with Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One.
The Classic Edition also includes other extras such as an embossed foil retro box, a reversible poster, the CD game soundtrack, and a replica metal retro cartridge.
