TOMAH, Wis. (WSAW) – The Tomah VA Medical Center will host a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Women’s Health Center on Tuesday, July 30th at 2pm at the Tomah VA Medical Center.
The event will be held in Building 411. Veterans and the public are welcome to attend.
The opening of the new Women’s Health Center marks an important milestone for the Tomah VA as it continues to provide high-quality, intensive care and support to female veterans.
The center offers a wide range of health care services designed specifically for women veterans, including primary care, comprehensive health management, mental health services, reproductive health and specialty care for conditions related to military service.
“Establishing a stand-alone center exclusively for women veterans was a priority to not only provide intensive, quality care to women veterans, but also to create a safe, supportive environment that allows them to interact with other women veterans,” said Dr. Jacqueline Paykel, director of the Tomah VA Women’s Health Center. “Female veterans are the fastest growing portion of the veteran population, and the Tomah VA is ready to serve their needs.”
Participants will have the opportunity to meet with Tomah VA Women’s Center health care professionals, tour the facility and learn about the comprehensive medical care available to them. The Tomah VA Medical Center serves approximately 26,000 veterans in 16 counties in Wisconsin and Minnesota.
