
Deputy Mayor KA Ansia visits photo exhibition at City Hall Photos | Express
KOCHI: To mark International Yoga Day, Yogapoornima Centre for Yoga Studies organised a photo exhibition at St Teresa’s College highlighting the transformative power of yoga.
Captured by the talented EMS Mahesh, each of the 100 photographs tells a story. The subjects include renowned Kalari and Yoga trainer Anjusha, national level Yoga trainer Varun Francis and alumna and National Yoga Champion Mary Shilpa Francis. Their poses, captured in breathtaking detail, make you pause and reflect on the essence of yoga.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Ernakulam MP Hibi Eden amidst the gaze of yoga enthusiasts and experts.The event kicked off with NSS hymns and a mesmerising Natya Yoga performance by the Bharatanatyam department of the university.
Principal Dr. Alphonsa Vijaya Joseph and Vice Principal Dr. Sister Suchitra CSST spoke passionately about the role of yoga in promoting a healthy lifestyle. The centre’s founder, Shabbir Yogapoornima, spoke about their mission to make yoga accessible to everyone.
The keynote speech by writer Shoukath delved into the philosophical aspects of yoga. After St. Teresa’s College, the exhibition moved to the Town Hall and will now travel across Kerala, taking the experience to other colleges and districts.
