Taipei, February 18 (CNA) Hundreds of applicants for positions with the Taiwan Railway Corporation participated in an extensive physical fitness test in four different regions across Taiwan on Sunday. They were required to carry sandbags weighing 30-45 kilograms over a distance of 40 meters.
This was the first recruitment session held by the state-owned company, which is the corporate version of the Taiwan Railway Administration, since its inauguration on January 1.
Sunday’s test was the first of three for those applying to become employees of the railway operating company. According to the company, only those who pass the physical fitness test will be able to take the subsequent written test, interview, and practical exam.
Men were tasked with running 40 meters while carrying sandbags weighing 35 to 45 kg, and women were tasked with running the same distance while carrying sandbags weighing 30 to 40 kg.
According to Taiwan Railway Corporation officials, Sunday tests were also held simultaneously in Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung and Taitung.
Those who pass the physical exam will be eligible to appear for the written test on March 2, the official said, adding that an interview or practical test (depending on the job description) will be held on March 31. Ta.
Those who pass all three exams and get a job or are placed on the waiting list will know when their results are posted online on April 12, the official added.
