Each week, up to eight Park Mental Health clients volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization that helps individuals in their local communities and around the world build or improve the places they call home . “The partnership with Habitat for Humanity was made possible by my recognition of the tremendous struggle my clients have in returning to work after a mental health crisis,” Weathers said.
This collaboration allows clients who are not yet ready to return to work to receive practical on-the-job training, supported in a more compassionate manner by Park Mental Health staff and Habitat for Humanity supervisors. This is important in that it allows you to do this.
