Rosewood prepares to launch new lakefront property in Salzburgerland, Austria
Rosewood Schloss Fuschl will be home to Rosewood’s second Asaya Spa in Austria
The eight treatment room spas are part of Rosewood’s Asaya global expansion plan, which includes 16 additional Asaya Spas around the world.
Introduced in 2017, Asaya represents Rosewood’s second foray into spa and wellness and complements its first wellness brand called Sense.
Reservations are now open for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts’ second Austrian property, Rosewood Schloss Fuschl, in Salzburgerland.
Opening on July 1st, this luxurious lakeside hotel is located on the shores of Lake Fuschl and overlooks the majestic Austrian Alps.
The all-season hotel will be Rosewood’s second Asaya Wellness location in the country. The facility will feature eight treatment rooms, a private outdoor lounge area, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and a fitness center.
Rosewood says the wellness facility will go beyond traditional notions of relaxation to provide a holistic retreat, offering a sanctuary-like retreat enhanced by lake and mountain views.
Rosewood has increased the pace of its Asaya concept’s global expansion in recent years.
Asaya to the world
Asaya was founded in 2017 as Rosewood’s second in-house spa service under the direction of Niamh O’Connell, former Group Vice President of Guest Experience and Wellness at Rosewood.
It focuses on the intersection of physical, mental, and emotional health and is based on five pillars: emotional balance, fitness and nutrition, physical therapy, skin health, and community.
The group’s original concept, Sense, A Rosewood Spa brand, remains a key part of the brand’s wellness portfolio (18 open, 5 in development). However, Asaya now includes a portfolio of seven spas.
The group has plans for 16 more Asaya Spas around the world, from Mexico and the Netherlands to South Korea.
Rosewood manages 36 luxury hotels, resorts and residences in Europe, North America, South America, Asia Pacific and the Middle East, with 25 new properties under development.
About Rosewood Schloss Fuschl
Rosewood’s upcoming hotel marks the company’s second outpost in Austria and follows a careful restoration of the historic hotel.
First used as a hotel in 1954, the 5-star Hotel Schloss Fuschl was originally built as a castle as a retreat for the Austrian royal family, and its original structure dates back to 1450.
With 98 guest rooms, including 42 suites and six chalets, and multiple restaurants and lounges, Rosewood has carefully updated the property’s offerings.
The operator was appointed to manage the facility by Arabella Hospitality, a subsidiary of Schörghuber Corporate Group.
This is the second partnership between Arabella Hospitality and Rosewood, with the brands working together to create Rosewood Munich (opening October 2023).
