I would like to thank the entire staff at Tower Behavioral Health. The nurses, technicians, and cooking staff were wonderful. It gave me a safe place to focus on myself. I used process groups and skill groups to learn more about my disease and how to manage it. I had to be open to the program and be honest with myself.
People with mental illness are sick. It’s not a lack of willpower. Willpower is a myth and does not exist. We are taught how to control our emotions. Trauma hurts us all the same way. We just have different ways of expressing our grief. Suppressing these emotions causes silent pain.
Signs of depression are feelings of worthlessness, helplessness, or hopelessness. Most days I feel sad, depressed, and depressed. Loss of interest in work or things you used to enjoy. Sleep disorders or sleeping too much. Eating more or less than usual.
Signs of suicide include actively contemplating suicide or having intrusive suicidal thoughts. Plan your attempt. Talk or write about suicide. I feel like I’d be better off dead and it’s the only way out. Feeling the need to write a will or make gifts. Harm or endanger yourself. to purchase weapons.
Help is out there. You are important and you deserve good things to happen to you. And remember, it takes strength to ask for help and reveal your deepest secrets.
