Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efrid’s husband, Josh Efrid, has reason to be concerned about her health following the death of her sister, Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell.
People Magazine has an exclusive look at the Friday, July 5 episode Mama June: Family CrisisJosh is concerned about his wife’s mental state and the effect Anna’s death has had on her psyche.

“I’ve been with Pumpkin for almost 10 years and I’ve seen the damage that’s been done to her over those years, but losing Anna was the worst thing I’ve ever seen,” Josh tells the cameras about Pumpkin’s mental state. “I always think that tomorrow she’s going to wake up and want to do something, she’s going to want to eat. [and] Then he won’t come.”
“We’re doing everything we can around the house to distract the kids but they definitely want Mama P back,” he added.
Pumpkin reflects on how difficult it was to “sit here and make a choice” to attend the cremation of her 29-year-old sister, who died far too soon. In a candid conversation, she confesses that Anna’s death made her realize that everything can change “in an instant.”

“At least my eyes are open. I’m trying to be prepared for that moment in mine and Josh’s life and everything. Nothing happens tomorrow because I literally don’t know what’s going to happen,” she sighed.
She later reminds Josh that if anything were to happen to her, “I don’t even have a will.” “Who’s going to raise my kids, my mother?” [Mama June Shannon]”That’s not what we want,” Pumpkin pointed out, suggesting he seek out an attorney.
