Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has urged the people of his state to make yoga a part of their daily lives to lead a long and healthy life. He said yoga is a holistic knowledge that benefits humanity and connects the body and mind.
On the occasion of the 10th International Yoga Day on Friday, the CM led a mass yoga practice session at Raj Bhavan. Governor Anandaben Patel also participated in the session. The yogi emphasised that yoga transcends national, social and time limitations and paves the way for happiness for all mankind.
“By embracing yoga and uniting all humanity, we pay true homage to our ancestors and traditions. International Yoga Day is a way for all of us to show our respect for this Indian tradition,” he said.
Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra welcomed Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath by presenting them with Tulsi plants. A large number of yoga practitioners and instructors participated in the group yoga practice sessions with great enthusiasm.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the theme of International Yoga Day, “Yoga for All”, signifies that yoga is non-discriminatory. He emphasised that yoga transcends the barriers of caste, region, language, time and country.
“My appeal is to incorporate yoga into everyday life,” he said. The ceremony was attended by Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra, Chief Secretary AYUSH Leena Johri, along with yoga practitioners and trainers.
