Taylor Casey, 41, has been missing in the Bahamas since going to Paradise Island for a yoga certification retreat and hasn’t been heard from for almost a week.
A Chicago woman has been missing since last week and is now missing in the Bahamas, police said.
Suspect Taylor Casey, 41, is being sought by the Royal Bahamas Police Force, according to a Facebook post shared by police on Friday.
Police say Casey was last seen near Paradise Island in Nassau, Bahamas, on June 19. It is unclear what clothing she was wearing or if she is in any danger.
USA Today reached out to the Royal Bahamas Police on Monday but did not receive a response.
Why was Taylor Casey in the Bahamas?
According to a Facebook group created for her called “Finding Taylor Casey,” she was in the Bahamas for a yoga certification retreat.
“I’m in shock right now and can’t believe I’m posting this. Taylor is such a sweet person and cares so deeply about her community,” Facebook group member Anna DeShawn said in a post on Monday.
DeShawn said the Paradise Island yoga retreat center noticed Casey hadn’t attended class on June 19 and contacted her family the next day.
Casey’s family is preparing to travel to the Bahamas, the Facebook group said in a post Monday afternoon.
“We send our love, prayers and energy to Taylor’s family as they begin their journey to the Bahamas,” the social media post read. “Together, we share our determination and strength to find our beloved Taylor.”
USA Today reached out to Casey’s family and friends but did not receive a response.
