Determined to provide exceptional care, physicians Shital Gandhi and Kurti Lakhani have just opened NOVA PRIME Physical Therapy at 13995 Metrotech Drive in Chantilly. Both are experienced and certified physical therapists and are proud that their women-owned clinic meets the needs of the community.
“When we were looking for a location, we learned that the physical therapy location here also didn’t offer women’s health,” Gandhi explained. In addition to offering a wide range of other physical therapy services, NOVA PRIME also focuses on improving women’s pelvic health and other conditions and promoting postpartum recovery following pregnancy.
“In some cases, women can understand other women’s situations better than men,” Lakhani says. “And women feel more comfortable talking to other women about their personal health conditions. Women have a lot to do with their families and jobs, but they also have to take care of themselves.” It takes time.”
Gandhi and Lakhani have each worked in the field of physical therapy for over 10 years. And together, they aim to bring a new standard of personalized and empowering health care to the region.
“Here we offer cutting-edge technology and treatments, including dry needling and high-end electrotherapy to relieve muscle pain,” Gandhi said. “And we plan to add laser and traction therapy in the near future. I am also certified in ergonomics and spinal manipulation, and Kurti helps orthopedic patients, especially those recovering from surgery, injuries and balance issues. Excellent at caring for people dealing with.”

The official grand opening of the clinic took place just before Christmas. However, Lakhani said: “We were very excited even before that because we were getting a lot of calls from prospective patients. So we were able to get a good response.”
During the grand opening, both doctors spoke to attendees about their backgrounds. “Ten years ago, my journey as a physical therapist began,” Lakhani said. “For many years, I have worked in an outpatient orthopedic clinic and have experience treating neurological conditions, pre- and post-operative conditions, and work-related injuries.”
“While treating patients and making connections with them, I thought about starting my own physical therapy clinic and making a difference in people’s lives,” she continued. “Coincidentally, my friend Shital also shared a similar dream, so we started investigating it and here we are today.”
Gandhi said her passion for physical therapy was ignited when she was about 12 years old. “It was a tradition in her family that we would play a game of badminton every morning in the winter,” she said. “One day while doing that, I hurt my shoulder and couldn’t play anymore. So I had to seek help and found physical therapy. It worked wonders for me. I was able to play the game again.”
After that, she became very interested in the field of physical therapy and decided to learn more about it. As she grew, so did her interest in her field. “Later, when her sister enrolled in physical therapy school, she gave me a strong motivation to help people and the community,” Gandhi said. “And that’s when I decided this is what I wanted to do. I wanted to help people heal.”
So she too graduated from a physical therapy school in India. Later, after moving to the United States, she worked in that field for 5-6 years until she and Lakhani decided to open their own facility and offer multiple specialties all in one location. I was there.
Gandhi said physical therapy is important because it “allows us to connect with people and give them the help they need with a holistic approach. We don’t just heal one part of the body, we heal the whole body, and we work with patients. It’s about working together to improve strength, mobility, stability, and even mental health.”
She said there are few places in the area that offer physical therapy for as many different conditions as here. “We felt this was a great need in the community, and we didn’t want people to have to wait a long time to get the treatment they needed,” Gandhi said. “And now that we have opened NOVA PRIME, we would like to thank everyone who helped make this happen.”
Next, Dr. Shalini Varshney, an obstetrician and gynecologist in Fairfax County, said she was thrilled to be able to attend the clinic’s opening ceremony. “Let us all join together and wish Shital and Kurti success in their endeavours,” Varshney said. “And may NOVA PRIME physical therapy bring health to all patients.”
Supervisor Kathy Smith (D-Surry) also addressed the crowd. “It’s so exciting to be developing this physical therapy business that is focused on improving the health of all women, and especially women’s lives,” she said. “We are excited to welcome you to the Surrey area. We believe this is a great part of Fairfax County. We understand that finding a location and putting together a vision for your business may not be easy. , I congratulate you on all this work and wish you good luck in your business.”
“This would not have been possible without the grace of God and the tremendous support I received from my family and friends,” Lakhani said.
Agreeing, Gandhi thanked her husband and wife for supporting the project “from the very beginning.”
