SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Aptihealth and MVP Health Care (MVP) announced a partnership Tuesday to expand access to timely, affordable and comprehensive mental health services for MVP clients. The partnership will provide support to MVP clients with serious and persistent mental illnesses, child and adolescent issues, addiction and substance use disorders.
The collaboration aims to utilize screening tools and interventions to identify and support clients who are at high or elevated risk or have gaps in care. The collaboration between MVP, Aptihealth, physicians, health systems and community-based organizations aims to further improve the quality of care and address populations where they are.
MVP customers receive personalized, goal-oriented therapy with licensed therapists, convenient video therapy and easily scheduled online appointments, medication management with a licensed psychiatric prescriber when recommended, direct messaging with therapists via Aptihealth’s secure, HIPAA-compliant platform for support between therapy sessions, and integrated and coordinated care with their physician or participating specialist.
Aptihealth is a smartphone-enabled online tool that connects patients to comprehensive mental health and substance use support. Aptihealth’s digital platform and behavioral health provider network give clients access to expanded options for integrated care that remove traditional access barriers and deliver personalized programs of care.
Chris Del Vecchio, president and CEO of MVP Healthcare, said MVP Healthcare understands that caring for an individual goes beyond physical health, but also includes mental and emotional health.
“Together, we aim to remove barriers to access to behavioral health care, raise the standard of care and build cost-efficiencies into the fabric of our services,” Vecchio said. “This alliance is more than just a partnership; it’s a signpost of our unwavering dedication to fostering healthier, more vibrant communities.”
Aptihealth CEO Daniel Pickett said the partnership is a step toward Aptihealth’s mission to transform the way mental health care is delivered.
“We are pleased to partner with MVP Health to provide value-based behavioral health solutions that prioritize the needs of our customers,” Pickett said.
MVP Health Care is a not-for-profit health insurance company serving clients in New York and Vermont.
