Five new regional reports highlight the current state of MHPSS work within the broader movement.
The PS Centre has published five MHPSS progress reports that provide insights into the challenges and needs of National Red Cross Societies, including the IFRC, ICRC and Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, working on MHPSS in Africa, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.
The latest report on MHPSS in the Americas highlights that needs continue to grow and place great strain on existing resources and infrastructure. It is heartwarming to witness the incredible work being done by our incredible network of volunteers and staff in the face of overwhelming adversity. Now more than ever, we need to come together to prioritize mental health and psychosocial support and ensure that no one is left behind on the path to healing and recovery. This report serves as a wake-up call for urgent action and unwavering unity to address the critical MHPSS needs of the Americas.

A baseline MHPSS survey was conducted to assess the Movement’s MHPSS activities and services in 2019. A second Movement-wide survey was published in 2021, producing a global report and regional breakdown, with a final survey in 2023. The latest five reports provide a look at the current situation compared to previous years’ reports.
More than 163 National Red Cross Societies, IFRC and ICRC responded to the survey.
