Harbour Cup’s design takes its cues from the traditional table soccer game, but with a key difference: there are no goals and no pre-determined teams. Players must negotiate and decide whether to compete or cooperate, turning the familiar game into a platform for reflection and communication.

Illuminating Harbour Cup lights up Hong Kong’s Harbourfront
The artwork features an array of solar-powered LED lights that illuminate the path of the kicked ball via capacitive sensors mounted on a waterproof 3D printed console. The Harbour Cup’s lustrous metal structure reflects the colorful lighting of Hong Kong’s skyscrapers and harbour, creating a visually dynamic experience.
The Harbor Cup is made up of three pieces of different heights and sizes, allowing people of all builds and ages to sit in it. Based in Hong Kong LAAB Architects aims to encourage participants to engage with each other and the environment, encouraging social interaction and physical play.
