Strava users can now link their favorite furry friend to their profile via the Fi Smart Collar for Dogs and track Fido’s fitness stats alongside their own. The brands announced the partnership today, which also includes a limited edition of his Strava x Fi branded smart collar.
But let’s focus on the big news for now. You and your dog can finally prove to your neighbors and the wider world how physically fit you are. Once your two accounts are linked, Strava will automatically monitor your puppy’s activity levels and more.
When you track your adventures with your four-legged friend on Strava, your pup’s stats will appear alongside your own in the app as their activity is recorded. You can keep your puppy’s statistics private. Alternatively, users can share it with the community and compete with other puppies in the rankings.
“Damn, Pickle just stole the crown from Thurston again.”
Of course, you’ll need a Fi Smart Collar to enjoy all this fun. These GPS and LTE-equipped devices are lightweight and compact enough to be worn by even toy breeds. Users do not pay for the collar. Instead, there is a monthly subscription for $3 to $4 per week, depending on whether you sign up for a six-month, one-year, or two-year subscription.
After all, health is our top priority at TG, and this collaboration seems like a really fun way to promote physical fitness in humans and dogs. Additionally, I would like to see Strava extend compatibility to other popular smart collars, such as the Minitailz AI Collar and smart collars for cats.
