The 10th International Day of Yoga was celebrated across the globe under the theme, “Yoga for Self and Society”. People from all walks of life, including bureaucrats, politicians, celebrities, medical professionals and even people from the real estate industry took part in various celebrations to mark the day.
From Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to Delhi Development Authority officials and private developers, the Indian real estate industry took part in the celebrations of International Yoga Day 2024.

Union Minister for Housing and Urban Development Manohar Lal Khattar appeared on X and shared pictures from a yoga programme he took part in at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.
“Yoga is an invaluable gift given to the world by the sages of India. Yoga practice gives us a wonderful life both mentally and physically,” he wrote in X’s post.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Development Authority organised events at 18 sports complexes/golf courses and 10 parks.
Lt. Governor and DDA Chairman VK Saxena performed yoga at Baansela on the banks of river Yamuna to mark International Yoga Day, a DDA statement said.
“By organising public yoga sessions, workshops and meditation groups led by expert trainers, the DDA aims to create awareness about yoga, a transformative practice that represents harmony between mind and body, balance between thought and action, and the unity of restraint and achievement,” the Delhi Development Authority said in a statement.

Elsewhere, private developers such as Embassy Group and Brigade Group have organised various Yoga Day events at their commercial complexes.
“I can speak from experience that yoga is a way to develop strength, flexibility, balance, focus and breathwork. My favourite asana is Shavasana, which we do as a reward at the end of class. Enjoy #InternationalYogaDay everyone,” Rohit Gera, managing director of Pune-based Gera Developments, wrote in a LinkedIn post.
“Yoga teaches us that true happiness goes beyond the body and touches the mind and soul. Incorporating yoga into your daily routine can help you achieve overall wellness, inner peace and a stronger, more resilient version of yourself. Harness the transformative power of yoga to enhance your overall well-being and live a life with balance, clarity and harmony,” Jaksay Shah, founder and CMD, Ahmedabad-based real estate major Savvy Group, wrote on X.
