You’ve probably heard of “Brangelina”?

Or maybe “Bennifer”?

Although they may not be a Hollywood power couple, Amherst’s Blastina is making a name for herself in the local business world.

The entrepreneurial husband-and-wife team of Brad and Christina Pavela, who own Brstina’s NutriZen at 1919B Cooper Foster Park Road in Amherst, set out to provide a more holistic approach to mental and physical health. Specialized.

Brad is a Certified Herbal Therapist and Certified Physical Therapist, and Christina is a Life Coach, Certified Reiki Healer, and Ohio Certified Peer Recovery Specialist.

In creating the NutriZen concept, the two summarized the importance of combining good nutrition with positive, proactive mental health, or Zen.

February 2022 will mark the third year since its founding.

“We founded NutriZen with one goal in mind: protecting the health of the entire family,” says Christina. “Our mission is to help our customers live healthier lives overall, both physically and mentally.”

Their passion for business spans everything from vitamins to life coaching.

This quaint and well-stocked store offers a variety of natural nutritional supplements to support your daily life, from herbal capsules, unique tea blends, protein powders, and other holistic herbs. Masu.

Brad says he particularly likes the Sun Warrior line of protein supplements.

And on the mental health front, this space features a wide range of books covering self-help and self-care, meditation crystals, candles, soaps, and even essential oils.

We also hold regular classes, including therapeutic art sessions and programs specifically for children.

“I think it’s important for people to know that we’re locally owned and family-owned,” said Christina, a mother of three. She said: “We can now offer our customers far more support and more information than a simple transaction online or in a chain store.

“We help our clients make informed purchasing decisions based on their specific needs, challenges they may be facing, or goals they have set for themselves and their families. To do.

“And we strive to offer products you won’t find on Amazon. We feature locally sourced products and products from small businesses that are very unique. It’s important for us to all support other small businesses.

“Buyers can continue to make Jeff Bezos (owner of Amazon) even richer, or they can come and experience small businesses that provide quality products and services.”
Knowledgeable service. For us, that’s a big difference. We love our customers and value personal relationships. ”

The surgery began as a result of the coronavirus challenge and response, and both Christina and Brad said they were working in jobs they were no longer passionate about.

And for them, the pandemic change was a positive one, as they decided now was the right time to take the plunge and start their business.

Christina’s passion is helping others live healthier, more fulfilling lives through mental health.

She said she particularly enjoys working with military personnel, veterans and children, and finds art therapy particularly satisfying.

“It has been a very long journey for me personally because of my circumstances, but the ability to share coping and calming strategies, especially to help children self-regulate from traumatic experiences, has been so rewarding.” I feel like I belong,” Christina says. “It helps to share to let them know that they are not alone in what they are going through and that they can overcome any situation.

“People are becoming increasingly angry, sad, emotionally and physically exhausted. I think it’s life and everything we’re surrounded by that is moving so fast.

“These programs and products are extremely helpful in helping people understand what is going on and what they can do on their journey towards personal health. You are no longer sure of what is going on around you.

“For many people, life seems to be nothing more than a mess. We can sit and just talk. We spend peaceful and meaningful time through peer counseling.
A place where you can stop and collect your thoughts.

“People want to find alternatives to so-called traditional medicine.”
