
More than 100 leading psychologists and academics from 16 countries will convene at the conference in the city.
Sophia University of the United States and Shanghai National University will step up cooperation in developing global mental health and cultivating high-quality talent with an international perspective and innovative spirit, officials said at the 2nd World Mental Health Congress that concluded in Shanghai on Sunday.
More than 100 leading psychologists and academicians from 16 countries gathered in the city to discuss and redefine traditional concepts of psychology, explore advanced teaching methods to support the advancement of global mental health, and build an open and diverse platform for international exchange.
A transpersonal psychology practice activity was also launched, aiming to optimize psychological services in China and raise public awareness of mental health.

Sofia University President Carol Humphreys said the conference had helped establish a mechanism for transparent dialogue across national and cultural differences as a positive response to the mental health crisis.
Scholars from home and abroad have studied various forms of spiritual healing methods, such as traditional Chinese medicine and art therapy, as well as the possible future applications of artificial intelligence.
In addition, through lectures, roundtable discussions, workshops and other activities, participants shared their practical experiences and the latest research results across the boundaries of different fields.
