East Boston Neighborhood Health Center (EBNHC) plans to rebrand the health system, which serves more than 120,000 people and has an operating budget of $270 million, in an announcement to approximately 2,000 employees. I have given an overview.

Massachusetts’ largest community-based primary care health system announced it will become NeighborHealth in June 2024 and adopt a new name and visual identity. “For more than 55 years, we have proudly served the East Boston community. In recent decades, our health system has flourished and grown, offering a comprehensive and diverse range of services, Through our programs, clinics, we are serving more families in more communities.

“As the state’s largest community-based primary care provider, we have adopted a single name that encompasses all of our practice locations and reflects the diverse communities we serve,” said EBNHC President and CEO. “We have an opportunity to integrate the health system under the Greg Willmott. “As NeighborHealth, we remain committed to our mission and patient promise to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to everyone who lives and works in our communities.” EBNHC is a civil rights movement. It was founded in 1970 during the Boston era to address the lack of medical services for East Boston’s working class and primarily Italian immigrants, and served as a relief station for Boston City Hospital in the early 1900s. As our patient community expands beyond East Boston, EBNHC has introduced new facilities and services to provide more convenient care. EBNHC currently operates nearly a dozen clinical sites throughout Greater Boston, including East Boston, Winthrop, Everett, Revere and Boston’s South End. NeighborHealth is committed to providing high-quality primary care services to the Commonwealth’s largest health safety net population and largest Latino population, eliminating barriers to care due to disparities related to race, cultural background, and economic status. We will continue to work on this. “Fifty years ago, East Boston community leaders planted a seed of love in the heart of our community that grew into East Boston Neighborhood Health Center. In partnership with South End Community Health Center, we… will become NeighborHealth, serving thousands of families in several communities. Along with the entire Board of Directors, I am filled with pride,” said Rita Sorrento, long-time chair of the EBNHC Board of Directors. . “East Boston Neighborhood Health Center continues to expand in response to the needs of our community and fulfills its founding mission to serve everyone who walks through our doors,” said Jack Craddock, CEO Emeritus of EBNHC. I’m proud to continue to protect it.” “We look forward to seeing the next chapter unfold under the NeighborHealth name and the positive impact it will undoubtedly have on communities across Greater Boston.” South, which was acquired by EBNHC in 2020, End Community Health Center has a similarly rich heritage and will adopt a new name, NeighborHealth, this June. “In the 1960s, I saw the urgent need for community-based primary care in Southend and was fortunate to join forces with a wonderful group of people who shared my vision for health justice. To me, NeighborHealth represents a renewed dedication to serving our community with compassion and sensitivity, something we need now more than ever.” Co-founder of Southend Community Health Center said Dr. Gerald Hass. In response to community feedback, EBNHC worked with patients, staff, and community leaders across the Boston region to arrive at a name that best unifies the health system’s wide range of services across multiple campuses. The new brand, NeighborHealth, aligns the health system’s visual identity with its mission and vision to create a healthcare experience that is compassionate, person-centered, culturally relevant, and most importantly, accessible to all. We provide. Officially renamed in June 2024, the soon-to-be-born NeighborHealth will continue to be at the heart of Boston’s diverse community by leveraging its core values. • With our communities: We do more than just serve our communities. We belong to them. We understand our patients’ lives because they are deeply connected to our own lives. That’s why we can respond to complex needs and cultural nuances. We are more than just a provider. we are neighbors. • Open to all: Too many people face barriers to accessing quality care due to disparities related to race, cultural background, or economic status. As a community-based health system, we are committed to removing these barriers and providing the right care for everyone, no matter who needs it. • Beyond the clinic: We know that healthcare doesn’t start and end in the exam room. In fact, where and how people live can have a huge impact on their health outcomes and well-being. That’s why we take a holistic approach to care and work with community partners to engage people in their communities before they become patients in our clinics. • A valued team: A healthy workplace is essential to excellent patient care. That’s why we are committed to the health of our teams, creating a safe, supportive space where our staff is recognized and valued for their work, and our patients are treated based on their unique needs by providers they trust. • Better Care: We provide compassionate, high-quality care to the greater Boston community. But community is more than just a place where care takes place; it is a state of well-being to which we all aspire. We live longer, healthier lives in our communities with people who understand and care about us. That’s why we believe that care in the community is better. And that’s what we’re here to defend. Patients and partners seeking additional information regarding the upcoming rebranding should visit ebnhc.org. East Boston Neighborhood Health Center is one of the nation’s largest Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and the largest community-based primary care health system in Massachusetts, serving more than 120,000 people. , is nationally recognized as a health care provider by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). Quality leader. For more than 50 years, EBNHC has provided access to comprehensive primary care, specialty care, and emergency care to patients across the commonwealth. In a first-of-its-kind merger in 2020, EBNHC has partnered with South End Community Health Center to expand services to patients who live and work in Boston’s South End and Roxbury neighborhoods. EBNHC champions innovative models of care to proactively close health care disparities in low-income and immigrant communities with unique services that set us apart from other health care providers in the state. In addition to primary and specialty care, EBNHC operates the only satellite emergency department in Massachusetts. The emergency department is Boston’s fourth busiest acute care hospital and is co-located with advanced radiology, including CT scan services, same-day behavioral health urgent care, and integrated pharmacy. . Today, EBNHC is committed to promoting and maintaining healthy communities, families, and individuals in and out of the office by providing accessible, person-centered, compassionate, and high-quality health care services. I remain dedicated. For more information, please visit www.ebnhc.org.
