First, he lay flat on the floor, that is, face down. Varun’s trainer held his hands behind his back and pulled his torso up. Note how his fingers were interlaced and his legs were extended and planted firmly on the floor. The actor appeared straight, his chest expansive, his spine arched.
After holding this position for a while, they moved on to another stretching exercise, in which Varun’s trainer held him face down on the floor with his elbows clasped behind his back. Again, the 37-year-old was able to pull his torso up, and his trainer gripped his shoulders tightly to release the tension.
After holding this difficult position for some time, the actor relaxed his body by lying on his back and bringing his knees up to his chest to prevent cramps and reduce the risk of injury.
