Legacy Academy of Excellence and NAMI Richland County will host the second annual Black Mental Health & Wellness Symposium, a celebration highlighting the importance of mental health and wellness in the African-American community, on Wednesday from 2:30 to 7 p.m. at the Academy, 215 N. Trimble Road in Mansfield.
The symposium will address mental health challenges in the Black community and support for those affected, as well as those supporting loved ones living with mental illness and trying to break the school-to-prison cycle.
In partnership with Mansfield UMADAOP, North End Community Improvement Collaborative (NECIC), Mansfield/Richland County Public Library and Richland County Children’s Services (RCCS), this free event will include a family-friendly dinner, fun activities, celebrations and more.
Doors will open for the welcome reception at 2:30pm and the symposium will begin at 3pm with dinner and activities.
