Balatro will be releasing a physical edition.
Localthunk, the creator of the popular poker game, confirmed through a note posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) that fans will soon be able to pick up physical copies of the game on PS5, Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and previous-gen consoles.
As an added bonus, each “Special Edition” comes with a bonus 10-pack of joker/booster cards.
LocalThank recently spoke out about the game’s rating controversy, saying “it is what it is,” adding that “the PEGI 18 rating is making a mockery of me.” [though]” “.

During an AMA session on Reddit earlier this year, localthunk was asked to comment on how PEGI mishandled the game’s rating after it was pulled from sale in some countries because, according to a statement from publisher Playstack at the time, “it was mistakenly believed that the game contained gambling-related imagery and educational material.”
“I still think the rating is unfair, but there is a grey area in PEGI interpretation and that is where it stands at the moment,” localthunk said. “What disappoints me most is the fact that other games with actual gambling mechanics are not being rated in the same way because of their look and theme.”
“Over the past few weeks, this game has completely taken the gaming world by storm, and it’s easy to see why,” we wrote in Eurogamer’s Balatro review. “A poker roguelike is such a great idea that you don’t even have to try to make it to know how clever it is. There are a few games like this out there, but Balatro is hands down the best I’ve played. It’s genuinely original, and ingeniously simple.”
