Health plans that were awarded Medicaid managed care contracts are trying to thwart a lawsuit by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration that seeks to block the contracts from proceeding. Florida Community Care filed a motion this week to intervene in ImagineCare’s unsuccessful lawsuit against AHCA. After a years-long process, the department announced plans in April to award contracts to five managed care organizations, including Florida Community Care, after ImagineCare and other health plans protested the bids, leading to settlement talks.
