Asus Zenbook Duo (2024): Price and everything else about this dual-screen laptop

The Asus Zenbook Duo is a newcomer to the dual-screen laptop market, but it has some big advantages over the competition.

Lenovo Yoga Book 9i (2024): Price, improvements, and everything you need to know about this dual-screen laptop

Lenovo’s unique dual-screen laptop gets even better in 2024 with new Intel processors and software features

design and display

Traditional yet cutting edge

Asus Zenbook Duo has two screens stacked vertically and a wireless keyboard in front of them

For convertible laptops, the most “traditional” design is something like a book consisting of two hinged displays with an attachable keyboard, hence the Yoga “Book” designation. A scheme is attached. This is something we consider with both Yoga and Zenbook. Naturally, this won’t be the “traditional” look of a laptop, but a different type of portable computing experience.

Both machines look and feel sophisticated and luxurious, and are similar in terms of weight and size. The Zenbook has a 14-inch display, while the Yoga has a 13.3-inch display, so the Zenbook is larger. However, these laptops are about the same weight, whereas the Zenbook is slightly thinner. At less than 3 pounds, both the Yoga and Zenbook aren’t particularly heavy.

As for the display, the Yoga features two 13.3-inch 2.8K 60Hz OLED panels with 400 nits of peak brightness. The Zenbook features two 14-inch OLED panels with a peak brightness of 500 nits, and you can choose between a 1920×1200 60Hz or 2880×1800 120Hz panel. Of course, all the displays on these laptops support touch functionality.

As you can see, the Zenbook’s display is brighter and a 120Hz option is also available, making the Zenbook the laptop with the best display. Additionally, the 14-inch panel also offers slightly more screen real estate than the 13.3-inch panel. However, when it comes to webcams, the Yoga has a better camera as the Zenbook has a 2MP camera while the Yoga has a 5MP camera.

Hardware and performance

Zenbook rises to the top

Yoga Book 9i rollout showing off dual touchscreens.

When it comes to hardware, these machines have some important differences.

The Zenbook comes with up to 45W Intel Core Ultra 9 185H and Intel’s Arc integrated graphics technology, while the Yoga uses a 15W Intel Core Ultra 7155U and Intel’s older integrated graphics technology. Additionally, the Zenbook can have up to 2TB of storage, while the Yoga is capped at his 1TB. In terms of RAM, both machines can have up to 32GB.

As you might expect, the Zenbook is a more powerful laptop with a more powerful processor. This definitely affects battery life, but the Zenbook is a better machine in terms of performance. However, neither of these laptops are particularly good at gaming thanks to their integrated graphics, but if you need serious computing power, there are definitely better laptops than these exists in

Both of these laptops have plenty of power if you’re only planning on doing casual web browsing, word processing, and running apps that don’t require GPU processing, but they’re more than capable for gaming or serious video editing. If you plan on doing so, look elsewhere.

battery life

Further testing is required, but there are some benefits

Close-up of the area between the Zenbook Duo hinge and display

I haven’t had a chance to actually touch these laptops. So we’ll have to hold tight for the official review to get a full idea of what the battery life is like. However, there are certainly some things to be said based on the specs.

The Zenbook comes with a 75Whr battery and, as mentioned earlier, can have up to a 45W chip. On the other hand, Yoga has his 80Whr battery and 15W chip. Depending on the configuration, it’s safe to say that the Yoga will have a longer battery life because it has a larger battery and a chip that uses less power. However, how much will require your own testing.

Nevertheless, with the option of a more powerful chip, the Zenbook’s battery life may be worse than the Yoga’s.

Zenbook Duo vs Yoga Book 9i: which one is right for you?

Two premium convertibles, one right choice

In general, you can’t go wrong with either of these machines. Both are fairly powerful for lightweight laptops, powered by the latest Intel processors, and have OLED displays. Moreover, both of these laptops are expensive products, so neither one will fit your budget.

However, that being said, the Zenbook has more storage, a more powerful chip, a brighter display, and a 120Hz option, making it my favorite of the two. However, if you don’t need the power of a Zenbook and want a bigger battery and a chip that consumes less power, the Yoga is a solid choice.

ASUS Zenbook Duo (2024)

winner

With a Core Ultra processor, lots of storage, up to 32GB of RAM, and an OLED display, the Zenbook Duo is not only an attractive convertible machine with two screens, but also a powerful and capable laptop in its own right. It’s also the top. If you’re looking for something premium and exciting, the Zenbook Duo is worth a look.

With a premium Intel Core Ultra chip, tons of RAM, lots of storage, and a responsive 120Hz display, Zenbook Duo is a highly impressive convertible without sacrificing hardware for a dual-screen design. It’s a laptop and worth considering. If you can afford it.

Yoga Book 9i (2024)

runner-up

With a Core Ultra CPU, up to 32 GB of RAM, up to 1 TB of storage, and an OLED display, this convertible dual-screen laptop from Lenovo is a capable premium machine. If you’re ready for a new kind of laptop computing experience, this PC is worth considering.
