GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) – Prisma Health and UnitedHealthcare announced Friday that they have reached a new multi-year agreement after months of negotiations.
The new agreement means Prisma Health’s hospitals, physician offices and other medical services will be in-network for patients in UnitedHealth’s commercial and Medicare Advantage health insurance plans.
“We are pleased that United has agreed to fair reimbursements that reflect the increased costs we incur to provide care to our patients,” said Mark O’Hara, president and CEO of Prisma Health. “These terms allow us to prioritize patient needs and provide our doctors and hospitals with the resources they need to provide high-quality care to United’s health plan members.”
Prisma Health officials said they are reaching out to affected patients to inform them about the agreement, and those interested can find more information about the new contract here.
