This year, Yoga Day will be celebrated under the theme “Yoga for Women Empowerment”, highlighting the transformative power of yoga.
To raise awareness about this ancient practice and celebrate the physical and mental capabilities that yoga has brought to the world, International Yoga Day was celebrated on June 21, 2024 at St. Anthony English Secondary School, Alipadhe, under the able guidance of the Headmaster, Sister Lavina Vaigas.
The event started with a brief introduction of Yoga Day by Vinaya and welcoming of the guests by Babita. Soumya conducted warm up exercises and all the students practiced and performed seated and standing asanas while explaining the importance of these asanas.
The celebration ended with a values speech by Sanghvi, a student of class 7. A Yoga Quiz was conducted for the students to create awareness about Yoga.
Afterwards, Principal Lavina Vaigas encouraged the students to practice yoga regularly to stay healthy and improve their focus. The program ended with a pledge by all students, teachers and the Principal. Finally, Ms. Thulasi gave a speech of thanks.
