“Yoga is a science and an art form that can, if you so choose, unlock your true self to its ultimate potential and create a conscious planet,” Sadhguru, founder of Isha Foundation, said on his social media handle X.
Speaking at an event at Sadhguru Sannidhi, Air Commodore SB Arunkumar urged all citizens, especially the future citizens, to embrace yoga as a lifestyle choice. He said yoga was not just a “physical exercise” but a “holistic practice” that rejuvenates the body and mind.
“This is a reminder that we are all connected across the world and through yoga we can overcome barriers and come together as one global family, as we all are here today,” he said, adding that “yoga develops discipline and focus,” and urged the students and NCC cadets gathered there to practice yoga.
Popular Kannada actor Srinidhi Shetty of KGF fame said, “We all know what is right and what is wrong, what we should and shouldn’t do. It is just a matter of taking action.”
She said that with an overly polluted environment, it was essential that people look inward to improve their own health and well-being.
“The air we breathe, the soil we walk on, the water we drink – everything is deteriorating,” she said, urging her audience to regularly practice yoga “to achieve inner joy”.
Air Commodore SB Arunkumar also virtually inaugurated the Sadhguru Sannidhi Community Yoga Hall.

Yoga has several proven benefits including increased energy, focus, memory, and productivity, stability of the body, mind, and emotions, and relief from back pain, stress, anxiety, and tension.
According to a statement, to celebrate International Day of Yoga, Isha provided over 1,400 free yoga sessions across India.
The event was held at prominent research institutes such as ISRO, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, IIT Madras and Foxconn.
The celebrations also saw hundreds of CRPF soldiers take part in a yoga session held in front of Adiyogi at Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore on Friday.
