The City of Fayetteville has launched an online mental health resource initiative aimed at improving the quality of life in the community. Led by City Council Member Dr. Niyah Glover, the initiative will be centered around the Fayetteville Mental Health Hub, which can be accessed at www.fayetteville-ga.gov/mentalhealth.
“Right now we’re focused on short-term results,” Councilman Glover said recently on the City Vision podcast. “We’re creating a webpage where citizens can access resources to help with things like stress management and emotional resilience.”
Councilwoman Glover said the effort will eventually include mental health workshops focused on specific needs. “Community building with an emphasis on engagement, connection and creating a non-stigma environment is the goal of this effort,” she said.
“When you go to this page, it will tell you where you can access resources for your developmental stage and any type of challenge or crisis that you may be facing,” Glover continued. “It will streamline those resources for you based on your developmental stage.”
“I think a key part of this particular effort is making sure we really understand the lifespan of each and what the actual needs are there and making sure we’re meeting the unique needs of the people who live here in Fayetteville.”
The City of Fayetteville does not directly provide mental health services or other health-related services, and any personal information collected through these online resources will not be shared with the City of Fayetteville.
