Famous biohacker Brian Johnson’s rejuvenation Olympics – “I have to cross the finish line” to win – People who want to reverse their biological clock gather

In other words, the game is really about life, not death as the ultimate goal. The goal is to reach as far from the end point as humanly possible.

In practical terms, competitors must focus on reversing their biological clock, the equivalent age of their cells and tissues, which can be very different from their chronological age, or the number of years since birth.

The leaderboard will display the top 20 contestants.

Tips for living a longer, happier life from renowned biohacker Ben Greenfield

johnson is 7th with a chronological age of 46 years and a real age of 37 years. A little further behind him in sixth place is fellow American Dave Pascoe. Mr. Pascoe is a kind-hearted and very personable person. He is 61 years old, but his real age is in his mid-30s.

On his website davepascoe.net, the Zodiac man details a typical day in his life. Pascoe, an avid marathon runner, starts his day with his five-minute workout on the trampoline before doing a thorough stretch.

Then he headed to the bathroom and rub his tongue, brush your teeth and wash your face. After drinking lemon tea and taking in peptides (short chains of amino acids that are the building blocks of certain proteins needed by the skin, such as collagen and elastin) and probiotics for gut health, go outside and get some sunshine. I’ll take a bath.

This is followed by a workout that alternates between weight days and cardio days. Usually from the P90X home fitness program, it includes his 12 intense workouts using resistance and bodyweight training.

Pascoe has breakfast (usually a banana and an omelet) after training. He publishes typical lunch and dinner plans on his own website.

Throughout the day, Pascoe does an abdominal routine or goes for a long run. We also use an infrared sauna.

“I use it at least three times a week, always for 25 to 45 minutes. It was my first and still one of my best and most favorites. [investments in] My health and longevity,” he says.

He goes to bed by 10pm every night and aims to get six to seven hours of quality sleep.

Pascoe, a former systems engineer who is unmarried and has no children, hasn’t had an easy life, he told the Post. He moved in to be his parents’ sole caregiver in 2001 while his parents battled various cancers.

Exercise, he says, was “a coping mechanism for dealing with all the stress.”

Ten years ago, after undergoing a telomere test, he learned that “all the stress” was causing him to age rapidly. Telomeres are structures made of DNA sequences and proteins that cover and protect the ends of chromosomes, like the ends of a shoelace.

Each time a cell divides, telomeres shorten until the cell is no longer able to divide and the tissue ages. An enzyme called telomerase can restore cell division.

Measuring telomere length is one way to determine biological age. Pascoe thought he was fit and healthy, but his first tests revealed his telomeres were the same age as a 68-year-old.

It was the wake-up call he needed to take his health and well-being seriously.

After 10 years of living a healthy lifestyle, I learned about Johnson and saw his scores when he competed in the Rejuvenation Olympics. “I thought, ‘Wait! no way! Even now that I’m 60 years old, I wonder if I’m aging slower than him? ”

A year after the contest began, the answer is still yes. Johnson reportedly spends US$2 million each year trying to slow the Reaper. Pascoe spends between $30,000 and $40,000.

Unlike Johnson, Pascoe is not a vegan or a proponent of calorie restriction.

At least one apple a day: How eating more fruits and vegetables can help you stay healthy

“I don’t really care about calories. For the most part, by limiting simple carbohydrates, I eat as much as I want without gaining weight or obviously accelerating my aging process.”

He is “very interested in nutritional diversity” and therefore “doesn’t eat the same thing every day.”

Mr Pascoe said he was unable to contact Mr Johnson. “I proposed that we get the top 10 members of the leaderboard together and try to at least meet and hopefully share what each other is doing and learn from each other. But that request went nowhere. did not.”

Tiat Lim says she doesn’t need a sauna because she lives in one, citing Singapore’s hot and humid climate. He says that taking a sauna provides benefits similar to those of exercise. “Then why not just exercise?” he says.Photo: Thiat Lim

Another participant is Singaporean Tiat Lim, who is currently 14th on the leaderboard. The 51-year-old, whose biological age is 27, describes himself as “a lawyer by training and a serial entrepreneur by profession.”

He and his sister, Yan Lin, founded Bespoke Fitness in 2016 to change lives through fitness, where he coaches. Mr. Lim’s specialty is “de-aging.”

Tests at the Mayo Clinic in the US and the National University of Singapore confirmed that Lim’s biological age is several decades younger than her chronological age.

Mr Lim said he participated in the Rejuvenation Olympics to inspire Singapore to become a Blue Zone.some parts of the world residents live very long livesoften referred to as blue zones for more than 100 years.

Like Pascoe, Lim is unmarried and has no children, which he suggests is a blessing because he has “no distractions” and can “focus 100 per cent.”

Three submissions are required to qualify as a participant diagnostic test reportAllow at least six weeks between doses, says Lim.

This contest is in collaboration with TruDiagnostic, a home test that reveals your age from a biological perspective and determines how your body ages at the cellular level based on over 75 biomarkers and biological components of aging. Analyze how fast or slow it is. Only 5-7 drops of blood are required.

“I live in a sauna,” says Singaporean Tiat Lim. He is 51 years old and his biological age is 27 years old. Photo: Tiat Lim

Mr Lim said: “He is open to anyone who wants to pay US$499 per test. However, you can only rank on the leaderboard if you are in the top 20.”

He wastes no time in attacking Johnson, the “bald man with gray hair and sunken cheeks.”

Johnson has talked about getting fat injections into his face and using herbs to reverse his gray hair.

DNA testing: Forget the past, what about the future?

When asked if you are using saunaLim responded, as did Pascoe and Johnson. Singapore is a tropical country with an average daytime temperature of 32 degrees Celsius (89.6 degrees Fahrenheit). Humidity averages 83.9%. If sweat is greasy crying, then buckets of tears are shed here. ”

He added that taking a sauna can mimic the effects of exercise. “Then how about just exercise?”

Anyone can participate in the Rejuvenation Olympics. Many participants have chosen to remain anonymous, but as of this writing, at least four of her women are in the top 20. The authors contacted some participants for comment but did not receive a response.
