Why Tim Tebow prioritizes mental training over physical training
By Movieguide® Contributor
Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow explained on Christian Hough’s 4:8 Men’s Podcast why mental training takes precedence over physical training.
“I think about striving to be your best for God, for what is being asked of you, and for what people are asking of you,” Tebow said. When asked what he thought of when he heard the term training, he answered: “Why do we train? This is very important. It’s not that we train. It’s why we train. It’s important why we train. Why we train. Do you train in a sport? You train in a sport because you have a goal, you have a dream, you have a vision, you want to get from where you are to where you want to be.”
“You want to go from where you are at that moment to maybe being the starting quarterback, maybe winning a championship, maybe getting a scholarship.” continued Tebow. “You have all these goals, so you have to train right. You’re not just training to get fit, right? You’re training to get to that place someday. So, the best You can improve to have a chance to be, right? That’s why you work so hard as an athlete.”
After all, as believers, it’s great to win a scholarship or win a championship, but that’s not what we live for.
Tebow quoted 1 Timothy 4:8.
For while physical training has some value, piety has value in all things and has promise both in this life and in the life to come.
“What would I want to do about something that actually really matters,” Tebow said. “Like the Great Commission. To hurt others. Like the call God has placed on all of our lives. To love the least, the last, the lost. Only in big churches. It’s like serving in our personal church as well. It’s like we can encourage people as we go along.”
Tebow uses his platform to help others. His foundation recently hosted a Night to Shine event, “an unforgettable prom night experience centered around the love of God for people 14 and older with special needs.”
“This year’s event was hosted by 725 churches in 56 countries on February 9, including hundreds of churches in the United States,” CBN reported.
“By the grace of God, we have seen Night to Shine act as a catalyst. Thousands of people have joined us and every person with special needs has essentially I’ve seen them help turn Night to Shine into a worldwide movement to share the message that they should be loved and that their true We celebrate who we are as children of God,” Tebow said.
Movieguide® reported:
Tim Tebow’s annual worldwide event, “Night to Shine,” will take place on February 9th, and the former NFL star can’t wait.
On January 31st, he said on Instagram, “10 days left until Night to Shine’s 10th anniversary!” It’s hard to choose his 10 moments to share with you, but as we countdown to February 9th, we’ve got some joy for you. ”
He shared clips from past Night to Shine events. There’s a video of a teenager celebrating being crowned with a tiara, a video of a young boy entering a red carpet with people clapping, and a reel and photo of Tebow and his wife, Demi, as guests of honor.
“My hope and prayer this year, as it is every year, is that all people with special needs will know that they are celebrated and loved, and that they will know their true identity as children of God.” he stated.
