MORRISON – KT3 Fitness has passed the baton to Evan Ernst, who refuses to quit fitness, closed its church facility and moved to a new location on Main Street.
Ernst opened RTQ Fitness, located at 222 W. Main St. (formerly China House), to the public on Thursday, Feb. 1. Membership registration for the new facility opened on Friday, February 9th.
This facility is intended to provide Morrison residents with easy access to fitness equipment. “Prime Minister Scott Morrison has never had access to a public machine like this,” Ernst said.
Ernst grew up in Morrison and it has been a long-time dream of his to create something that is accessible to everyone, especially since the previous location was a multi-level church with stairs. The RTQ has ramps to make it more accessible to everyone.
Ernst also emphasizes the importance of using easy and accessible machines to help people get used to working out. The machines come with diagrams and instructions on how to use them and which parts of the body they work. This type of instruction and machines are important for people who are not very fitness savvy and have not been trained in how to use free weights.
When asked about the reason for opening a fitness center, Ernst replied: I spent several years working out, dieting, and getting in shape. I was going to school to be a physical education teacher or personal trainer, and when I moved back to Morrison to get married, I wanted to open a facility. ”
Work to expand the facility has already begun. Currently, one-third of the unused site is being renovated. Once it is renovated, the plan is to turn the room into a classroom and install more equipment.
Currently, we are holding two non-affiliated yoga classes at our facility, and we plan to expand our services and classes in the future.
Ernst said the numbers and attendance were strong during the opening week.
“We’ve been waiting a long time to get to this point. It’s not hard to move in, just start the business itself, get financial support and wait. Now that we’ve reopened and people are finally training We’re relieved to have a place to do it. We’re excited to bring this facility to the community and look forward to people experiencing it,” Ernst said.
