CHICAGO (WLS) — Chicago police say a female employee of a Southwest Side wellness spa is fighting for her life after being stabbed at the business Wednesday night.
The woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition after the incident at Brighton Park, according to CPD.
She has stab wounds to her neck and wrist.
The incident occurred at the Body Health Center in the 3800 block of South Archer Avenue just after 10 p.m.
The business is described as a wellness spa offering services such as massages and body scrubs.
The store was about to close for the night when police say a 35-year-old female employee was stabbed by a male customer during some sort of altercation.
The exact circumstances are unclear, but the woman was stabbed multiple times.

Multiple police units were on the scene throughout the night, collecting evidence both inside and outside the business.
As of Thursday morning, the incident remains under investigation by Area 1 detectives, and so far no one is in custody.
The woman underwent surgery, but remains in critical condition.
The company has surveillance cameras installed at its entrance, which could provide valuable information to investigators.
So far, there have been no comments from industry officials.
