FAIRFIELD – Spring is here and the Bent Northrop Memorial Library is encouraging people to emerge from hibernation and embrace a healthy lifestyle.
Join us at the library for our second annual Wellness Day, scheduled for Saturday, April 6th. Relax and rejuvenate with a variety of wellness-focused activities.
The day will be held at the Library, Brick Store and Fairfield City Hall and will feature yoga, aromatherapy, tai chi and more from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Those interested can sign up for their desired session on the library’s website. www.bentnorthrop.org Until Monday, April 1st. Chair massages are first-come, first-served and no registration is required.
The event is sponsored by the Friends of Bent Northrop Memorial Library, another nonprofit organization made up of people who support libraries. Friend Karon True said Wellness Day is a unique way for people to engage with the library and see it as a welcoming space.
“All of the library posts on Facebook celebrate the fact that libraries are places where you can research anything, be entertained, and be in a warm, bright space without costing a penny,” she said. To tell.
Wellness Day also allows community members to learn about themselves and their health at the library. Her friend Sarah Tourville said organizers brought back popular activities from last year’s event and added new options.
One session that some community members may be less familiar with is Body Tuning with a Tuning Fork, offered by Nicole Lopresti. His friend Molly Huff said Lopresti will apply vibrations from a tuning fork to different parts of his body to soothe negative energy.
After attending a Wellness Day event last year, my friend Bridget Hourigan-Rivet discovered a new activity that is now part of her wellness routine.
“Last year I attended a session with Silver and Fit, and shortly after that I started attending classes at the Collins Parley Sports Complex,” she said.
Community members can also sign up for guided walks and cooking classes. Lunch will be provided to all participants at noon at Town Hall, and a closing review session will be held in the library from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m.
Tourville said his friends at BNML also see Wellness Day as a way to give back to the community that has supported the library over the years.
“We hold a fundraiser every September and we receive tremendous support from library users and people in the town in terms of donating, sponsoring and participating in the silent auction,” she said. Ta.
