APSWC recently held its second annual awards ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand.
In 2024, a total of 25 trophies were awarded across 23 categories, honoring winners from Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Spain, Thailand and Vietnam.
The winners are determined by a panel of 22 experts in the spa, fitness, wellness and tourism sectors from 15 countries.
Dr. Pakpilai Thabisin, First Lady of Thailand, was also in attendance and received the prestigious APSWC Lifetime Achievement Award.
The Asia Pacific Spa & Wellness Coalition (APSWC) recently achieved a new industry achievement at a prestigious awards ceremony held during the 2024 APSWC Round Table event in Bangkok, Thailand.
Among the distinguished guests was Dr Pakpilai Thabisin, First Lady of Thailand.
Representatives from various sectors graced the ceremony, including the Federation of Thai Industries, Thai government officials, and industry experts from various locations such as the Maldives, India, Japan, and the Philippines.
APSWC Chairman Andrew Jacka said: “The APAC region is known for its unique spa and wellness offerings, and while industry governance is still playing catch-up post-pandemic, the wellness element is everything. “The industry is moving forward rapidly because of this.” -comprehensive”.
The awards were deliberated by a panel of 22 experts in the spa, fitness, wellness and tourism sectors from 15 countries and reflect a comprehensive evaluation spanning from Pakistan to New Zealand.
In particular, the operator and product categories include a public voting element (weighted at 60 percent and 50 percent, respectively) to award the most deserving winners, rather than the most popular.
Reflecting APSWC’s commitment to sustainability, winners received custom trophies made from recycled chopsticks, highlighting the organization’s environmental consciousness.

Vietnam emerged as the country with the most awards, winning five trophies. Meanwhile, The Retreat Spa at Okada Manila in the Philippines bagged the most awards with four trophies.

APSWC Lifetime Achievement Award
In 2024, the APSWC Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Dr. Mouriati Soedibyo, Crown Princess of Surakarta Sunanate, who dedicated her life to preserving the traditions of her ancestors.
A CIDESCO graduate and educator, she founded Mustika Ratu, a cosmetics and herbal products company, founded the Taman Sari Royal Heritage Spa franchise, and founded the Indonesian Spa Association (Associasi Spa Indonesia Wellness).
The APSWC Board of Directors recognized Soedibyo’s contributions and invited Thailand’s First Lady, Dr. Pakpilai Thabisin, to present the award to Soedibyo’s representative, Mr. Bingal Egidus Situmoran, CEO of Mustika Ratu.
