TiER1 Performances will join local business owners and community members on Friday, May 17th to celebrate 12 years of fundraising for serious causes through serious fun and Covington and Greater Cincinnati Covington and Greater Covington Mental Health through The Scully. Promote awareness.
Organizers say this year’s event will be the most fun on a Friday afternoon in Covington.The day will be filled with friendly team competition – Think CBS great race — Provides the perfect team-building opportunity for local organizations. Teams will “rush” back and forth between challenge stations in Covington and Cincinnati, where they will compete to solve puzzles, answer local trivia, and complete challenges for bragging rights.
Following the competition, TiER1 and event partners will host an after party at Covington Yards. This party is open to the community and will include music, food, drinks, games, and more. Community members do not need to be participating in a team competition to participate in the afterparty.
“Scurry allows TiER1 to maximize our work and partner with some of the best people in mental health to make a difference,” said TiER1 CEO Greg Harmeyer. says.
Mental illness is a serious public health problem in the Cincinnati metropolitan area and across the nation, with one in five people experiencing a mental illness each year. All proceeds from the Scully event will benefit three local organizations that work tirelessly to support people’s mental health efforts: Lindner Center of Hope, Northern Kentucky Children’s Home, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. The donation will be made to ADAPT for Life.
“There’s no need to be afraid to have conversations about mental health,” Harmeyer says. “By emphasizing the community aspect of The Scurry, we want to celebrate the network of support that exists around each of us in the form of friends, colleagues, and community. We hope our work will help build workplaces and communities where people feel comfortable and have enough support to take action when needed.”
TiER1 invites the community to join organizations and individuals in partnership. Since its founding in 2010, The Scurry has raised more than $400,000 for community initiatives, including mental health initiatives. In 2023, The Scully raised a record amount for beneficiaries, totaling approximately $89,000. Organizers have set a 2024 fundraising goal of $100,000 for the Scully Team competition to support mental health awareness.
