Florida Basketball and No. 13 Alabama faced off in another high-level SEC game in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, which ended in a close game with the Gators losing in overtime, 98-93.
However, the battle royale nature of the event at Coleman Coliseum did not satisfy some college basketball fans.
In the first half, Florida Gators freshman forward Alex Condon was whistled for a reach foul while trying to get a rebound, but a subsequent examination revealed that Condon received an elbow to the head from Alabama forward Mohamed Wag. It turned out that he had received it.
Later in the first half, after a review, Alabama forward Muhamed Diubate was whistled for a flagrant 1 foul for grabbing Will Richard’s leg after a similar pileup.

Overall, Florida State had 20 fouls that resulted in the whistle, compared to 17 for Alabama. The Crimson Tide got to the free-throw line 20 times, making 18 of Florida’s trips.
“There was a 50-50 chance that things didn’t go our way along the way…” Florida State basketball coach Todd Golden said. “However, in a close game like this, there will be some situations where you have to be strong and overcome.
Alabama senior forward Nick Pringle was the only player to foul out, and Condon had four fouls for the Gators.
