The City of Ellesmere held its annual Student Government Conference last week, where several students from Lloyd High School, Tichenor Middle School, and St. Henry School spoke to Mayor Marty Lenhoff, six City Council members, the CAO, City Clerks, and City Clerks for their jobs. took over. The police chief attended the press conference.
Joseph Stowers, Lloyd’s senior, served as acting mayor.
“I look forward to this every year,” Mayor Lenhoff said. “We’re having a little bit of fun, and we know something always happens. But the students are able to understand how local government works and someday we’ll all be here.” I hope one day I can sit down and look after Ellesmere City.”
Lenhoff also noted that this is the first student government meeting to be held in the brand-new Ellesmere City building, and the first for new CAO Michael Bartlett, administrator Katie Heman, and police chief Russell Wood. He pointed out that it was an official student government meeting.

Florence Mayor Julie Metzger Aubuchon submitted a proclamation to Boone County Emergency Management Director Mark Illig detailing his accomplishments during his career. Mr. Illig will step down as director and February 29th will be Mark Illig Day in Florence.
Hannah Boyd-Hughes has been sworn in as the newest member of the Florence Police Department. She was handed her badge by Chief Tom Grau, and she and her family posed for photos with the chief and the mayor.

Chief Grau said she is one of the second batch of new police officers who will spend the first five weeks of the police academy in the city department where they were hired, then spend the rest of the school year in Richmond. It’s a test to see if police academy staff can alleviate school overcrowding by trying out different ways to train new police officers in different cities.
Boone County School Mental Health Summit
Boone County Schools Executive Director of Student and Community Services Kathleen Roitman came to the meeting to tell people about the 4th Annual Youth Mental Health Summit, which will be held Friday and Saturday, February 23rd and 24th. Ta.
The event will be held at Florence Baptist Church on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Both days will feature keynote speakers and several workshops and seminars led by national, state and local experts in the field of youth mental health.
