Lakeland Community College welcomes prospective students to discover careers in the health care field through several free public events this spring.
Officials said the school plans to host 11 events through April to showcase a variety of “cutting-edge and high-growth” programs, with this season’s highlight being held from 3:30 to 6 p.m. It is said to be an open house for the health program that will be held. Afternoon of April 4th.
Attendees will tour Lakeland’s Health Technologies (H) Building and gain insight from experts on areas focused on direct patient care and behind-the-scenes administrative and laboratory operations.
The event will be held at Lakeland’s campus, located at 7700 Clocktower Drive in Kirtland.
Registration is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome.
Other programs also offer private sessions and open houses throughout the semester, including Health Information Management/Medical Coding, Tissue Engineering (microscopic detection of tissue abnormalities for disease diagnosis and treatment), Medical Assisting, Occupational Therapy Assisting, and Surgical Techniques. will be done.
The health program’s classrooms are equipped with “state-of-the-art” equipment, including “breathing” mannequins, a mock operating room, hospital beds and a life-sized ambulance simulator, officials noted.
