Vagina type: Asymmetrical inner lips
A vulva with asymmetrical inner lips has one side of the labia minora longer than the other and hanging slightly past the labia majora. Although it may seem uneven, Ibraheim points out that this is a very common type of vulva.
Vagina Type: Prominent inner lips
This is the most common type of vulva, but ironically, it is the one that women have historically been most self-conscious about in their surgeon’s experience. Here, the labia minora are longer than the labia majora. Due to the difference in length, the inner lip extends below the outer lip. This can range from a very subtle slight bump to something more noticeable.
Vagina type: curved outer lips
With this type of vulva, the labia majora are rounded and curved, exposing the labia minora from the front, but meeting evenly at the bottom, like an upside-down horseshoe. The labia minora here do not tend to hang below the outer lip.

Vagina type: small closed lips
Fun fact: Although this is the least common type of vulva, it is the most commonly “desirable” one, thanks to the fact that it is the shape most often seen in porn. It’s essentially Barbie’s vagina. In this type of vulva, the labia minora are completely hidden within the labia majora. The outer lip here is more or less flat and tends to lie flush against the pubic bone.
Vagina Type: Prominent outer lips
Depending on the vulva, the labia majora may be more noticeable than the labia minora. In this case, the outer lip tends to sit quite low and may be full and full, or thin and slightly loose.
Vagina type: small open lips
This vulva is similar to the one above because the lips are smaller. However, the main difference is that here the labia majora are placed further apart and appear “open”, meaning that the labia minora are visible.

Vagina type: Inner lips visible
Described by surgeons as looking like a “flower bud about to bloom,” this vulva exposes the labia minora for the full length of the labia majora, which usually extends on each side.
