The purpose of iMSKA is to advance research in the musculoskeletal system and to promote postsecondary education in this field. Applications for iMSKA Fellowships and Residencies are coming soon

Bolingbrook, Illinois, February 13, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — ATI physical therapy (“ATI” or the “Company”) (NYSE: ATIP), a nationally recognized outpatient physical therapy provider in the United States, today announced the formation of the Musculoskeletal Advancement Institute (iMSKA). iMSKA represents a commitment to advancing scientific MSK research while providing resources and opportunities for practicing professionals.

In partnership with ATI Physical Therapy, iMSKA is research-focused and dedicated to advancing quality clinical care. The Institute was established to make a long-term, sustained contribution to the growing body of scientific knowledge and evidence in the management of patients with MSK disease.

Dr. Chuck Thigpen, ATI Physical Therapy’s senior vice president of clinical excellence, said iMSKA contributes to and disseminates research and thought leadership in the management of patients with musculoskeletal problems. iMSKA will do this through translational research in the analysis of results repositories, publications, presentations, funded trials, and formal learning programs to evaluate the implementation of new research and best practices.

“iMSKA represents ATI’s commitment to advancing the advancement of MSK care through scientific research, training and development,” said Dr. Thigpen. “We aim to deliver the most advanced and most impactful body of research to drive improved outcomes and improvements in human life.”

Areas of focus include postoperative and postoperative outcomes. Early access to care. Treatment fidelity. A values-based care model. and implications for outcome implementation science.

In the future, interested individuals will be invited to join an elite clinician group as a fellow or participate in an ABPTRFE-accredited orthopedic training, sports training, or upper extremity fellowship program. Learn more about i-mska.org.

iMSKA has applied for registered 501(c)(3) status as an independent, nonprofit, research-based institution.
