(MENAFN-IANS) Mumbai, July 3 (IANS) Actor Anuj Arora has shared insight into his fitness routine, revealing that it involves weight training, cardio, core training and a high-protein diet.
Anuj, who is known for his role in the TV show “Burey Bhi Hum Bhale Bhi Hum”, said fitness plays a big role in his life.
“I am an avid gym goer and train six days a week. I love sports and have been playing table tennis for the past 15-20 years and have represented my state and school in many tournaments. My training regimen involves a combination of weight training, cardio, core training, functional training and running for 2-2.5 hours every day,” Anuj said.
The actor follows a high-protein diet and eats 18 eggs every day, either in the form of omelettes, ‘bhurji’ or boiled eggs.
“I focus on low carbs and eat lots of salads and vegetables. I add multigrain chapati to my lunch while gaining weight. My diet includes paneer, pulses, protein shakes, nuts, fruits and soups,” said Anuj, who is also known for his performance in Bandini.
He said his health-consciousness runs in his family, especially his father, who placed great importance on fitness and stretching exercises.
“I grew up with cows in our home so dairy products were always fresh and healthy. Staying fit is crucial in my profession. Looking good on screen and fitting for certain roles requires constant fitness efforts. I feel depressed when I miss my training,” he said.
The “Thodi Khushi Thode Gham” actor said that managing a demanding schedule requires extra effort.
“I always carry food with me wherever I go: eggs, protein shakes and fruit. Hydration is important – I try to drink five litres of water every day. Diet is paramount and my job keeps me motivated.”
“Fitness goals are subjective and tailored to each character I play. I aim to remain fit enough to be able to transform for different projects. It is not healthy or necessary to have six-pack abs all the time, so it depends on the character I play,” he added.
