Jamie Foxx has yet to reveal what led to him being hospitalized last year, but he has shared details of the incident, which was captured on video.
The Oscar-winning actor was hospitalized in April 2023 due to a health crisis while filming the Netflix movie “Back in Action” in Atlanta.
In a video posted to TikTok this week, Fox told a group of unidentified people that he had a “terrible headache” on April 11, 2023. He asked a friend for some Advil, after which he “had a headache for 20 days,” he recalled.
“I don’t remember anything,” he said in the video recorded June 29 in Phoenix.
Fox explains in the footage that his sister and daughter took him to the doctor and were told he was given a cortisone shot, and another doctor told him “there’s something going on down there,” Fox says, pointing to his head.
“I wouldn’t say that on camera,” he says in the footage.
The star is notoriously discreet about his private life and had previously disappeared from the public eye at the time following what his daughter, Corinne Foxx, called “health complications” on social media.
In July 2023, the “Ray” star explained that she chose not to reveal any more information because she “didn’t want the public to see it that way.”
“See me laughing, having fun, partying, joking around, being in movies and TV shows. I didn’t want to show you with tubes coming out of my body and wondering if I was going to survive,” he said in an Instagram video at the time, adding that he felt like he’d “been to hell and back.”
Fox shared a health update on her verified social media in August 2023.
“You’re looking at a grateful man… finally beginning to feel like himself…” he wrote at the time. “It’s been an unexpected and dark journey… but there is light in the light.”
He added: “Thank you to everyone who has reached out and sent well wishes.”
“Back in Action” is currently in post-production, according to IMDB.
