of American Medical Association The AMA welcomed a new president and named a new president for next year. Dr. Bruce Scott, an otolaryngologist from Kentucky, will become the new president of the AMA this month, and Dr. Bobby Mukkamala, an otolaryngologist from Michigan, will take over in June 2025.
Knowwell The company announced its first executive hires since its founding in 2022. The startup hired James Chaukos as chief operating officer and John Phleger as chief growth officer.
Moximed The company has appointed Christopher Gleason as its new CEO. Gleason has previously held a variety of leadership and management roles at healthcare companies including Intuitive Surgical and Johnson & Johnson.
Mount Sinai Health System The company named Vincent Tammaro as CFO. Tammaro will join the health system in October from The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where he currently serves as CFO. Previously, he served as CFO for Yale New Haven Health System.
Rhythm XAI We welcomed Dr. Ed Glynn as our Chief Clinical Officer. He joins us from HCA Healthcare’s Physician Services division, where he served as Chief Medical Information Officer.
Teladoc Health has hired Chuck DiVita as its new CEO, who joins the company from Guidewell, where he spent more than 10 years, most recently serving as executive vice president of commercial markets.
Unity Point Health The company has appointed Dr. Gregory Johnson as chief medical officer. Dr. Johnson joins the health system from Sound Physicians, where he worked for 15 years, most recently serving as chief medical equity and diversity officer and CEO of Hospital Medicine.

Aetna The company has promoted Eric Twachtman to vice president, head of commercial. Twachtman has been with Aetna for more than 20 years, most recently serving as vice president of the regional large business segment.
Signa Cigna has promoted Jamie Cates to Chief Accounting Officer. Cates joined Cigna in 2009. Cates’ most recent role was Vice President of Accounting, where he managed Evernorth’s accounting, compliance and consolidation functions.
Dismissal
Signa The company has laid off 261 employees in Arizona. The cuts were made within the insurer’s Evernorth Care Group, according to state filings.
Dexcom The company will lay off 535 employees in California.
Novant Health The company will lay off 171 employees in North and South Carolina.
Oregon Health & Science University The company will lay off hundreds of employees. The company, which is in the process of merging with Legacy Health, has told employees it will cut more than 500 jobs.
Philips Respironics The company announced plans to cut 300 manufacturing jobs in Pennsylvania and is still recovering from a medical equipment recall three years ago that led to the recall of about 5.5 million CPAP and other devices.
University Hospital About 300 positions will be eliminated. The health system will lay off its top executive and vice president as part of the workforce reductions, reducing its leadership structure by more than 10%.
